Diploma in Hotel, Travel and Tourism Managment

The Diploma in Fashion and Design is administered by the Department of Vocational Studies, Multitech Business School. The course was designed to generally provide students with the knowledge and skills required to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions and processes in fashion and designing. The course offers a wealth of opportunities to enable students learn and develop skills and experience they require to bring their own designs to life. The training and reaching will largely be carried out by trained staff under the department of vocational studies.

The overall aim of the Diploma in Fashion and Design is to respond to the growing demand of professionals in the field of tailoring, Fashion and Design. This course will allow students to get adequate exposure, knowledge, and other basic skills in Fashion and Design. The training will enhance the student’s capacity, influence their attitude towards work and prepare them to face challenges in both private and public sector as Fashion Designer professional.
There is also increasing consensus in Uganda that support for the growth of entrepreneurship and self-employment is a critical component of the country s drive to social economic development. This training is important to facilitate the growth and development of entrepreneurial amongst the youth and the unemployed.
General School Regulations
The general regulations and rules of the Multitech Business School shall govern the studies and examinations for the Diploma in Fashion and Design.
Admissions to the First Year.
Admission into the first year will be through any of the avenues mentioned below
  • Direct entry
  • Certificate holders scheme
  1. UBTEB
  2. DIT
For admission to any diploma course under
  1. Direct entry scheme, a candidate must have:
Obtained at least one (1) advanced level principal pass and (2) subsidiary passes obtained at the same
Examinations. Or Qualification equivalent to UACE
Sat the UCE examination (equivalent) and obtained at least 5 passes
  1. Certificate Holder’s Scheme, a candidate must hold:
Possession of a certificate in tailoring, fashion or designing of UBTEB or equivalent from recognized institution.
OR 
Possession of a certificate in tailoring, fashion or designing (DIT) DIRRECTORATE OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING Level II in tailoring or equivalent from recognized institution.
  1. Professional Qualifications.
  2. Hold a Higher Education Certificate with a pass grade
The applicant should have passed at least stage/level two (2), of the professional qualifications from a recognized institution or its equivalent, provided this is passing by examination and recognized in Uganda by the National Council of Higher Education.
